How should I deal with this clown?

I sold something on an auction site (you all know which one). My auction said that I would ship in the United States only. The winning bidder happens to be in Canada. That's fine, I can deal with that. But I said that shipping would be more. It turned out it would be quite a bit more. He then said that he didn't want it.

I gave him three choices-

1.) Send me an MO and I will ship the product
2.) Send me an MO for my listing fees (about $4) and I will call it even
3.) Do nothing and receive negative feedback

He proceeds to tell me that if I leave him negative feedback he will do the same for me. I have been pretty accomodating to him. Especially considering that he barely speaks any English and that even the shipping price I quoted him is less than what it actually will be.

It is a small dollar item, and I should probably just take the hit and move on, but it's the principle of the matter now.

Any suggestions?

What is your current auction site(you know which one) feedback? If its just one negative out a crap load of positives, screw him. State he is retalitating for his negative feed back on him.

How is a "small dollar item" has a listing fees of $4?

I would report to Ebay and see what they says. Maybe tell them he is going to retaliate on the negative feedback as well.

I wasn't sure how it was $4 either. That is what showed up on my last invoice. Maybe it's less...

My ebay feedback isn't high at all. I primarily use Anandtech to sell my stuff. A negative would hurt!

Leave feedback like, "Idiot needs to learn how to read. US >>>> Canada"

If I were in your position, I would just forget about it.

EDIT: Maybe file a non-paying bidder thing.

As a Canadian bidder myself, I say he is a jerk.

I am very carefull about bidding on something that has shipping to the states only. If i need something that bad, I email them and ask if they could ship to here.

Leave him negative feedback - he bidded without checking first.

ya ebay feedback sucks. i have 70+ positive feedback and a while back i left a guy a nuetral because it took him 15 days after payment to ship out the item. he left me a retalitory nuetral saying that it took me 3 days to pay him. it took me 1 hour to pay him after he took 3 days to provide his paypal acount. ebay feedback is meaningless have the positives are from people who are afraid to leave an honest evaluation and half the the negatives are retalitory. heatware is the only feedback that i care about.

You can only leave feedback for 90 days, so what I'd do is just tell him you'll forget about it and then on the 89th day or so leave him negative feedback. Unless he's really sharp he won't be able to respond before the item expires from the database.

Don't deal with Nutdotnet, he's a real bastard!

;)

I would leave him the negative feedback, if he leaves you one then have ebay remove it.

BTW, I dropped the Wega a couple weeks ago. I was moving it & forgot just how face heavy it was. I was using the handles on the side, but when we lifted it off the stand it took a nose dive from waist height. Thank god for carpet though, it doesn't seem to have any damage.

I'm pretty sure I missed a few heartbeats though.

I think you can file something along the lines of both parties mutually agreeing not to go with the transaction. Ebay will not charge transaction fees and nothing has to happen.
