how should i attach the heatsink?

i'm planning on attaching a small 486 heatsink to my 810E north bridge. howshould i do this? thermal tape?

Thermal tape or epoxy. Clean the chip and the heatsink with alcohol, cut the tape to the right size and press firmly to the heatsink. Then press firmly to the chip. Personally, I would go with epoxy.

i also heard of taking some thermal compound and putting that down, then placing some super glue on two of the corners, would this work as well?

toph99 yeah that will work but its not easy not to get the Thermal paste mixed in with the crazy glue. But as Spoooon said. Get some epoxy, If you can find any.

hmm. i don't like anything permanant. I'd go with the tape. It'll offer good enoguh performance and can be removed when you go in for warranty or something.

For that I would suggest the tape. It will transfer enough heat and is removable. Super glue and epoxy are both a pain to remove should it become necessary.
