How screwed am I?

This is my MB:

This is my processor (850 instead of 750):

The problem I seem to have is my MB seems to be on its last leg and I would salvage the processor and my memory. I dont have the funds to upgrade.

Is it possible to remove my processor from the housing without damaging it? I cant seem to find any of these slot type of motherboards on the market now.

Post a WTB ad on the For Sale/Trade board. There's lotsa these types of slot-boards available. Someone will surely have it at a reasonable price. It's a great bunch of traders over there!

Yes. You can remove and reuse the CPU and memory.

Probably your best bet is to do a search on eBay.
There are a few inexpensive New motherboards that will fit your needs listed.

Check this out as an example.

compgeeks has a slot a mobo for sale, but only in combo with an athlon 700 w/hsf and a 128 stick of ram for $74
if you could sell the cpu and use the ram that might get the job done for you
