How screwed am I?

Had to take a drug test for my summer job today. They said my hair was too short on my head, so they took it from under my arms.

I smoked some pot lightly about 3 times (only one or two hits each time) around the middle of last May.

I've heard that hair testing can go back 30 days to 3 years, so I have no idea what to believe... I'm guessing it depends on the type of test?

So ATOT... just how screwed am I?

I had a buddy who got his hair tested when he applied to a job at a paper mill. To be fair though, he smoked constantly right up until the night before the test, and was told he had "trace amounts" in his test, and that everybody had that. I thought it was weird that they tested him that way for an unskilled labor position, but meh.

Eh they pretty much all give drug tests as far as I am aware now. I remember being 16 in the 90's and given a drug-test for a grocery bagger position. I also remember getting one for an oil-change place to work there.

I had a similar situation. I had smoked once and then a few days later got an interview and offer for an engineering internship. I was terrified. It all worked out fine tho.

Don't sweat it. You can't change what happened at this point. Assuming you don't want a career in the carnival even if they don't give you the job it's hardly the end of the world.

Yeah, very true. I'm hoping that I'll be fine. If the test comes back positive the document I signed says I have 72 hours to go for a re-test as long as i can provide an acceptable hair sample. Worse comes to worse, I go back when my hair is a bit longer and try that.

hair test is NOT cheap. piss test is cheap. pee in a cup. THe cup has litmus strips built in to test for like a couple of dozen substances.
