I am going to modify my ps2 but I wanna ask those "experienced" gamer:

How small the soldering gun's tip have to be? Because I know the pins of the CPU are very close to each other.

It will be nice if you can post some picture here

Thank you

Pretty darned small. I suppose one of those radio hut pencil jobs would do the trick but I did my friends at my office where we have $1000 soldering stations. That made life much easier😎

I think it's mainly low voltage too. Low voltage so you don't burn a hole in your board.

You just have to be careful. I solder almost everything at 700 degrees without a problem.

Yes... your name and address would be needed... and those pics should be there any minute... and you might see some guys in blue uniforms delivering them!

the pencil tip one from rat shack works well. doesnt get too hot, so good for beginners. good luck, those ps2 things are damn small, have a beer before hand to cool your nerves and jitters. i've used it for numerous ps2s and xboxes. good stuff.

Alot of people use like a 15 watt with a really small tip, but I've done lots of modding (never tried a ps2 though) with a 30 watt and the average tip.

I dont think average would do it

By the way, in reply for the pervious post, why the cops are coming if I am just using the chip for educational purpose and I will not use it for pirate game????

It's a violation of the DMCA to have a modchip.

It's a means of circumventing electronic security. Read teh lawz!
