The murders in our city are usually gang-related or retalitory.

Same here. It's also almost exclusively on the North part of town, the "bad part of town". Here in the South it's pretty safe, but the crime is slowly seeping Southward and the white flight will take place within 20 years I'd say.

Tons of crime here!!

I was listening to the police reports on the radio on Monday... over the weekend, two 18 year olds were charged with under-aged drinking, and another guy was picked up for *gasp* dwi. But, all that excitement happened 15 miles away from me, so I feel a little safe.

We have about 15 or so murders every year in Anchorage Alaska. We have about 300,000 people. But, most of those murders are gang related, as usual. But what we do hold, quite dubiously, is an occurrence of rape that is more than triple the national average. We also have, at least once a year, a case of a drunk Native out in one of the bush villages passing out and falling onto his kid, causing him/her to suffocate.

i so badly want to live out in the country far away from people. not that i dont like people i just like to choose who i see not be forced to be with people i may not like.

I'm in Nutley, right near the OP. We had a murder a few weeks ago. My dad's a cop, he said it was drug related gang violence. Like anyone didn't see that coming.

I think more people die on the boulevard here in Queens per year then half the cities in this country of ours. Other than that, crime is still going down.🙂
