I dunno...capturing the wireless signal couldn't be that hard...

at least with a regular card, you have to physically swipe the card. I'm sure hackers will come up with a way to capture that signal and replay it some how...

anyone have expert experience with this product that can shine some light on this?

so the technology has been out for some time now I see...

well, I'm sure the hackers are already working on a hack, if not already invented one ;)

it is a cool idea though :)

I "believe" the main issue why this type of tech hasn't been hacked before is because of the proximity required :)

the white-hat hacker inside me thinks one can do something like the ATM hacks.

a) Create a base or a cover for a base that look just like the real thing.
b) Have unsuspecting shopper use the scanner. Oops, it's not working today, sorry.
c) Take fake base home
d) extract captured signal.
e) transfer onto cloaned card
f) shop away!

:p

edit: the above steps are for instructional purposes only to educate people a way which hackers may use to hack the system and to encourage positive thinking that may inspire ways to mitigate this risk. :)

i like the idea. though i want it to be universal with all types of cards from Visa, MC, and Amex. i know Amex has one out if a few select regions.

Some guy was able to capture the speedpass signals and he told Mobile about it. But Mobile said there have been no instances where people had their speedpass signals stolen.
