How safe is raw milk?

I was drinking raw milk a few months ago and stopped due to worries of getting sick, a few days ago I decided to try it again and ignore my fears. Really how safe or dangerous is drinking raw milk? I know they need special license and such to sell it. So I assume it is regulated.

My wife drinks it all the time and has never had a problem. I'm more cautious, so I only have it when it is in something that is cooked. That said, it tastes like 100x better than the other stuff, especially in creamy sauces like on mac n' cheese.

I certainly wouldn't give it to a baby though in case there was something bad in it.

We always buy it from an amish guy, along with raw butter, which is also delicious.

I drink a half gallon of whole raw milk every week.

Raw milk can only be consumed when wearing diesel jeans. The antimicrobial properties in the jeans offset any micro-organisms in the milk.

It will kill you, rape your children, and salt your land such that the fields run fallow for generations hence.

don't fuck with raw milk, son.

I wouldn't give it to little kids or drink it if I had a lousy immune system. Otherwise the risk is quite small in the grand scheme of things.

I would think that depends on the person/place it comes from. So if you want safe raw milk, get yourself a cow. If you don't have enough room for a cow, get a goat.

Another option would be to get low temperature pasteurized milk.

Drinking it is fine. It's selling it that is unsafe, because a government SWAT team will raid you and shoot your dog.

attn: if you don't cook it, describing it as 'raw' makes you sound like a complete moron.

anyone want some raw orange juice?

If you're sanitary about how it's obtained, and make sure the udder is properly cleaned, you shouldn't see any issues.

Other than the fact that you're enjoying the product of cow boobage.
