Seeing as I was never a huge fan of the first one, this means little to me.
It does suck for Halo fanboys. I'm glad that MS/bungie will take the necessary time to make the game good though.

That blows for all you Xbox owners. 🙁

How can it be a "delay" if they never announced a date in the first place???

I dont know about necessary? Im sure plenty of the delay has been a strategic move to take the wind out of Sony or Nintendo's sails with whatever they are going to release.

Exactly my question. They said they wouldn't announce release dates until they were sure and now they are sure about this. What's the big deal?

Well to be fair, every game has some internal target release date. Only Bungie, Valve, whomever really know whether a game is "delayed" or not.Originally posted by: Wingznut
And I can only presume that Storm thinks the same "ridiculous" thing about every other game that is delayed (i.e. HL2) or perceived to be delayed.
how is that "fishy"?!??!? PSP and handhelds are in a completely different target niche than Halo 2. saying that halo 2 being released in the fall to compete with the nintendo/sony products is tantamount to saying that mazda releasing the rx8 around the same time as the ford f-150 was a strategic move.Originally posted by: Storm

Oh really? I didn't know that. I stand corrected then 😉.
I still think they are more far along than they would let the Halo community believe. I mean cmon Halo 2 coming out in the fall only to coincide with Sony's PSP and possibly Nintendo's new dual screen handheld?
Thats a little too fishy imho.

i guess some of you werent around for the wait that PC users had to endure for halo, i remember seeing it first displayed at macworld and being sooo excited for its "may 2000" release, needless to say, it would only be right for the second one to follow suit 😛
