use sisoft sandra benchmarking my system(athlon xp 1700+, ga-7vrx mobo, 512mb nanya pc2700 ram).. however i'm getting low score.. i was wondering if it's my misconfiguration on my system or sandra giving me the inaccurate info.. i should be getting a better score for my system, but i'm not..

this is the score i got:

cpu arithmetic benchmark:
dhrystone: 3637
whtstone: 1823

multimedia benchmark:
integer: 7143
floating-point: 8358

here is the default value for an athlon xp 1600+ system.
cpuarithmetic benchmark:
dhrystone: 3872
whetstone: 1940

multimedia benchmark:
integer: 7644
floating-point: 8913

Ignore it. SiSoft Sandra's Processor/HDD benchmarks are completely unreliable, and very volatile... re-run the test multiuple times and your leikely to come up with very different results each time.
It also has absolutely no bearing at all on real world application performance.

SiSoft has it's benefits but it's effectively worthless as a benchmark, pick a number at random and it will describe processor performance about as well as SiSoft's results do.

just for fun.

one useful thing - to check the memory module maker's name if you don't want to open the case and take out the ram to see.
