How reliable is onboard firewall protection?

I just put together my new pc tonight and my Asus A8N-E mobo has an onboard firewall. I used to use ZoneAlarm but would now like to use this chip as my sole firewall. Is this wise? How full-featured is this onboard firewall?
 
It's fairly good but I've found software firewalls like ZA or Keiro to be more fully featured and easier to configure so I stuck w/ Keiro.
