How reliable is CPU-Z?

I was just bored so I downloaded CPU-Z so I could compare my computer with some screen shots I had found. I went into the SPD tab and was confused as to why it told me I had PC3200 (200MHz) ram stated as my max bandwidth. The ram I bought a while ago was clearly labeled Kingmax PC3500 and also labeled that on newegg's site. Does CPU-Z have a habit of being wrong with this, or was I ripped off and sold relabeled ram?

all ram claimed to go past pc3200 speeds are still rated as pc3200, the manufacturer is the one that says it can run faster than that. Try ocing to 3500 speeds and see what cpu-z says.

unless your overclocking then its not running at pc3500, its gonna run at 3pc200 speeds just like pc3200 would run at pc2700 if you put it in a board with a 333mhz fsb.

Officialy there's no cpu that go over 200mhz (pc3200 speeds) so that's why ANY ram will be pc3200 while looking in cpu-z. something to do with JEDEC standard.
