i've had two 27.3gb ones die on me the past year and it looks like the THIRD one is slowly fading away. are they known to be problematic, or sensitive to overclocking?

I bought a brand new one, then a used one shortly after that (visions of RAID in me head), but before I ever had a chance to do that. The new one died on me. I ended up trading em both (one broken, one not) for a Maxtor 7200 RPM 40gig which is still doing just fine as a storage drive for my SCSI setup. Although I had a 3 month old Maxtor (same series Plus 40) die on me too, that was a retail one from Best Buy.

Seems like it's basically the luck of the draw w/ HD's to me.
