no outline...but you kind of know the material quite well.

I'm procrastinating, as you can see.

I'd say about a page an hour if I knew the material pretty well (not fluff).

Took me about an hour to do a 5 page paper, so right around there give or take.

Yeah....2-3 hours depending on what the actual material is. If I am citing sources, I found that doing footnotes are the best. Not only do they provide accurate and overkill on citing your sources, they take up a little space on each page. ;)

around there. Also depends on what subject. If its science based, it'll take a little longer, english, I can B.S my way through real quick. I wrote my Final project in English 101, which was about 14 pages in under 6 hours, and that was with mulitple sources, web and book based. Got a 4.0 on it too.

takes about an hr to get the writing juices flowing... i visualize the intro, whatever part of the body stemming from the intro which i develop, then how i want to possibly wrap things up.

then i start putting actual sentences down, rereading up and down as i get more ideas, switch words here and there, polish grammar, move sentences and sometime paragraphs forward or further back. a lot of tweaks... but when i wrote papers i had no problem writing whatever 'length' was required...

i can prob. write it in 3 - 5 hrs, the more time the more polished.

I would reserve about 3-5 hours depending on resources and topic to write a paper at that length at one setting.

With how wordy I tend to write, I could manage to deliver six pages without too much effort in short order since I sound intelligent, have practice at laying out my information, and am experienced in utilizing tone, all while creating incredibly long sentences that say absolutely nothing yet let think the reader he or she has read thoughts and doesn't notice my excessive comma-splicing.

man, I should get into politics....

Depending what the paper is on, it could take me anywhere from 30 minutes to days...

Probably about 10 hours. Start researching for some sources online (have access to special databases), stop after about 20 minutes. Go get a bottle of pop/soda and a bag of chips from the vending machine. Surf ATOT for a while. Continue researching. Print out about 5 articles. Go back to ATOT. Read articles and highlight a few good quotes to sprinkle into the paper liberally. Back to ATOT, did anyone respond to my thread? Start writing paper. ATOT is getting boring, time for Highly Technical. Do some research to give a better response on a topic than the previous response. Oh yeah, back to the paper. Need to stretch my legs first. Finish the first page of the paper. Hey, all is going great, I think I'll see what's going on in OT again....

This would depend on the quality of the writing that's needed, and whether the paper actually needs to be accurate. I have had to write papers for writing classes where the subject was of little importance, while the structure and form was critical. A lot of people in the class would make the mistake of assuming sources had to be real and the research genuine.

I can spend 4 to 5 hours on a 1 page, 300 word paper. It all depends on what you want to say, how well you know the material, how verbose you are, etc.

I can blast out the 300to 500 words in about 30 minutes, but then I spend the next 2 or 3 days polishing, re-editing, etc.

I find it's actually harder to write a short paper than a long one as you need to be much more concise with your words. No beating around the bush.
