How Quebec city drivers beat heavy traffic

I was with a couple of friends up in Quebec city last weekend and it was funny to watch that as the traffic got really heavy that the cars all stayed at about 90 - 110km/h (55 - 65mph) - they just went up each other's asses. Maybe at most 5 feet between each car. It almost looked like something from an automated highway with the cars so close to each other except it wasn't automated at all ;). That was pretty damn funny watching those crazy drivers tailgate each other like that. Never seen anything quite like it even in Montreal, where one guy braking sends 50 cars behind him braking and before you know it traffic is stopped completely.

I'm pretty sure it's not, at least last time I was there it wasn't. You can turn right on a red though.

lmao ;)

Actually in all seriousness you can't even turn right on a red light, and I like it like that. Much safer for other drivers and more importantly cyclists and pedestrians. In the suburbs you can always put merging curves where you have room for them (in the suburbs you almost always have room).
