How plausible is it that someone will make software that'll run Xbox DVD's on a PC?

Since the Xbox is basically a computer with and Xbox OS. What do you think the chances are that someone will create an emulator that'll run Xbox games via your computer's DVD drive? I would think that it's possible but maybe its not.

AFAIK, not very good, since the xbox allows developers to program at a lower level to the hardware than Windows will ever let you come close to.

Emulation will almost undoubtedly come eventually, but its not going to be as easy as buying a GF3 and Nforce and expecting full speed.

Its going to take awhile, porting the game is alot easier than emulating it heh.. As Uber said, give it a year or so so..

Dunno about that....working emulators for playstation took a while....

Just because it has an Intel CPU and an nVidia graphic chip, doesn't mean it's a FREAKING PC!!!! :) It's different!!! D I F F E R E N T! ! ! Hence, it will NOT be easy to create an emulator that will run the games on par with it.

Heh - tell that to those who made the N64 emulator "Ultra HLE" and that ran fine with my Voodoo2 and PII400... Don't even think for a moment that a fast EMU will not be made from X-box....

It won't take long. The emulated PSX and N64 and those are radically different from the PC.

I'll bet ten bucks that it'll be out looooong before PS2 and GC emus. Even though its different, its the same CPU, and therefore the same underlying codebase. Not having to emulate the CPU opcodes will defintely help. Its the GF3 thats the problem, but I'm sure it can be worked around.

Someone would basically have to strip the HAL from the Win2k kernel, make up for a few hardware differences, but in the end I imagine itll be a ton easier than emulating anything else.

Of course this is assuming youre running a P3 and a GF3.
