How pissed will my wife be?

I've been slowly (or quickly) losing my hair, since the beginning of January. No idea why it started then, but it got to the point where there was a large patch on my crown gone, and smaller patches along the sides of my head, along with smaller dime sized bits here and there. Not normal hairloss, but not something I could really prevent either. Got to the point where I just looked silly, with long curly hair except in very visible spots. Even when it was all afro'd up you could tell it was very thin, and people were commenting a lot on it.

So I said screw it, and took the trimmer to it this morning. I think I look halfway decent, and I'll fit in fine at work with the rest of the head shavers. I told my wife I was going to do it at some point, just not today. Think she'll be surprised/pissed when she comes home and finds me bald? My 9-month old keeps looking at me weird, and is afraid to touch my head now (she likes hitting people's heads when they get too close).

Unfortunately, I do not have the long arms nor the ability to take pictures of what I looked like before. I didn't bother taking pics of my hair falling out or anything, no point in that. I still gotta throw on the cream and do a real shave, it looks kind of odd still, with patches of stubble and smooth spots.

would not care at all.
The husband would love that... not having to deal with hair stuff anymore... a lot quicker too.
Do you this she will be pissed?
(I just hope you have a nice shaped head :D )

I don't think she will be, like I said, this is something that was going to happen one way or another. I'd just rather not look totally stupid with my hair thinning, and lots of guys around here sport the bald look so it's not like I'll be the only one.

well, then i truly give you props for accepting the fact that you are losing some of your hair and you will probably look a lot better with a shaved head that trying to do a comb-over! :)

For us guys that are losing their hair or have a receding hairline,
Shaving it or trimming it real close is the best and cheapest solution.

Or if you have some spare change, you could always join "The Hair Club for Men"

EDIT: Are you black?

White, and it can happen due to stress or bodily injury or something. Back in December I took a second job for a few weeks, very little sleep and about 80 hours a week on average, but like I said I don't know for sure. Once it happens it takes months for it to grow back and your scalp to recover, so for now I'll just go bald and deal.

I'll just tell everybody that Bruce Willis is my hero ;)

I shaved my head back when it was long-ish (4-6 inches), and kept it that way because it was so comfortable. Recently I tried to grow it back, and the result was that it wasn't coming back the way it used to, so I"m now stuck with the bald look permanently :p I love not having to do anything, and that I haven't paid for a haircut in a long time.

I don't know about your wife, but mine would be pissed. Then again, I am not balding and have no real reason to shave my head. That, and she's already expressed her opinion against me shaving my head in the past. One day I'm going to do it just to mess with her...
