Im picky about interior, if its junk i have alot of trouble owning the car. If its a stripped race-spec interior, thats fine, but i dont like plastics and creeking ect. A good interior sells a car for me.

Speaking of FI VS all motor...

Id take a cosworth with track suspention, stripped interior, racing seats, harness, race suspention, and kick the shit out of a All motor or FI car on the road corse all day long. In America its all about straight line HP, but over in germany at the Nurburgring, theres a guy in a V-10 Viper getting his ass kicked by a stripped race-spec toyota. Im just sick of the HP battles...

When I think Cosworth I think high boost 4 cyl rally car... so still forced induction :awe:

I need a car that is calm enough to drive smoothly in heavy traffic and is comfortable with lots of gadgets to take my mind off of potential road rage. Then at the same time when the road opens up a bit I still want something that is fun to drive.

I currently have a 2006 Acura TL Auto and Nav with iPod connector and heated comfortable seats. I'm thinking of getting a 335i soonish (spring maybe, a ~2009 or so), with roughly the same options. I'm a little worried about controlling myself with the extra power. I think I've matured enough for it now though.

Beats me. Probably the dealership.

Maybe I'll take a picture of the oil slick on the street where he parks it later.

for a fun car it basically just has to be fun. that usually means boost and manual trans, but I had fun with an auto honda fit that I owned for a year

for a beater car, it just has to drive nice. good mechanically, comfortable seats, and have enough horsepower to get to cruising speed on an uphill on-ramp.

Has to be AWD, wagon/hatch, and have good fuel economy. Some ground clearance is a plus.

I stick to Subarus. Getting 30mpg in my 2010 Outback. Probably getting a 2012 Impreza hatch when they are available. 36mpg but half the clearance.

1) Will not deal with shitty, plasticky interior. Ever.

2) No FWD. Never owned one, never will.

3) Proper 6 speed is key, but I am willing to substitute for an auto if it's got a V8 or better with loads of torque.

Also with the m3, I've come to appreciate the dynamics of a limited slip diff.

edit: Oh and heated seats. It's always cold wherever I'm at.

Absolutely has to have more power or be well known to be modified easily to have more power than 99.9% of cars I'll likely ever end up next to at a light or merge. Probably why my top two cars would be the Supra TT and 03/04 Cobra.

I'm not an aggressive driver at all. It's purely defensive. People being high and mighty competitive dicks on the road because they have a slightly better/faster car than average is the one thing I have never been able to let go. I need to be able to respond with unconditional annihilation and return what they started 100 fold if I become the target of their smug ego. I'm a fond believer of the speak softly and carry a big stick philosophy.

You know what I'm talking about, when someone in a little beater Corolla or something is just waiting for the light, and some little "I'm too cool for myself" prick in a POS 328i or similar purposely and aggressively swerves and brakes into the wrong lane at the intersection clearly marked "LANE ENDING" before the 2 to 1 merge and is creeping as the light begins to change. I can't stand those kinds of people, they need a 600+ HP serving of justice.

Don't really care about much else if the car can't get out of it's own way and some Mexican in a Escalade on 26's with Magnaflows feels empowered to glare you down with this smug look on his face as he makes it a point to ride his bumper into your rear window like he's trying to rub it in how slow your car is every time you're trying to accelerate.

People are just animals, and nobody fucks with the lions in nature. People only understand power and being bitchslapped in the face when they stick their nose where it doesn't belong.

Hahaha, maybe I'm retarded, but I love provoking races out of beastly vehicles such as yours just because it's kind of an honor to see such hardware in action in the first place. I drive a non-turbo FWD i4 5-speed. It's decidedly not fast :) The worst thing is when I'm revving the guts out of my 2.0, and they don't even notice over their idle noise lol. Of course I'm not a douche about it or anything, I'm all thumbs ups and smiles whenever I do get someone to bite and put an epic car into action.

Yeah, I'd even mess with Cobra's and ZR1s in my Sky just to see them get on it. Got a 458 to bite once... Had to change my pants.

hahaha very nice.

Not that long ago I got a chick in what was probably an automatic Vette convertible to blow me away. I swear to god she smiled at me first, and then made this exact face :

Needless to say, even an automatic Vette is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> me.

Not nearly as picky as I used to be. Only thing I really need is a good stereo system capable of some decent bass.

same here for the most part, i like a good sound quality system with some hard, punchy bass. Normally i go all aftermarket, but some new cars with premium systems sound pretty good, they just need a little more bottom end. I plan to get a 2012 Focus Titanium soon, has 8" touchscreen, 9 channel Sony amp and speakers. sounds really good, i'll likely just add my JLA W6 sub and amp for it, add some sound deadning and be done with it.

However i also require the car to be very reliable and quiet. Good feeling brakes never hurt either, some cars feel alot smoother and nicer than others in this regard.

Ugh, the bass in my Altima annoys the crap out of me... it's some Bose garbage. I have to turn the bass to 0 or else all I get is a beat from the song and then a bunch of reverb ad nauseum.

I think it would have been more worthwhile for me to spend the $2k that the technology package cost me on a better system all together. :\

Oh and heated seats. It's always cold wherever I'm at.

I'm curious... why is it that most cars I see only heat the bottom of the seat? They're ass warmers more than anything! My car has heated seats, but they only heat the bottom. So, my ass is roasting, my back is cold, and I'm annoyed. :|

iPod connector

That's something I wish I had or a HDD-based in-dash player. I'm stuck burning CD-R(W)s with MP3s on them just to play in the car. I buy a new album, and I've got to go through the hassle of converting and burning them.

Has to get stellar MPG.
I commute and I just can't justify a large car even though I like them.
Has to be manual.
Has to be white exterior. (if buying new)

If buying used criteria is simple. cheap, good mpg, and manual trans.

My current car is an 11 Civic Sport 5 speed, white ext. black int. It is a good car for commuting, although every day I wish it was an SI. This gets better MPG though and that is what keeps me in it.

I like my cars to be "freeway monsters". I used to do lots of long distance late night driving in relatively rural parts of California, meaning I tended to push the limits a bit (GASP!) So the ability of a car to overtake and cruise at high speeds is important to me.

Has to be a manual
Sedan or Coupe
Black (such a pain to clean, but worth it)
European, not a fan of most Japanese or American cars
Comfortable at 80mph
Better than average brakes

My main car, 1995 BMW 540i 6 spd is an excellent car for this. Cruises at 80-85 in 6th gear effortlessly (~2600 rpm) and has enough low end torque to accelerate further should the need present itself :p Also the car is very quiet at those speeds and maintains a decent mpg of 23. Currently it is in the shop because it is overheating :(

Where I live, four wheel drive is a must. I also like crossovers for the versatility it offers. I don't need the fastest car on the road but I like having a "sleeper". Probably why I loved my Forester XT so much. My 2011 X3 35i may not look like a sleeper but surprisingly I've been driving it a lot less aggressive compared to my Subie.

Honestly, I am the same way. I enjoy seeing a car, that has obviously had alot of work put into it, be driven the way its supposed to be. If Im revving my engine at the line its not because I am being a 'douche' or looking for a challenge, but rather me just wanting to see what your car has got. If I win great, if you win, thumbs up!

ON TOPIC: I am quite picky with my cars. I prefer the not so common type vehicles. THe ones where people ask, "I like it, what is that?" My Saturn Vue is the nicest of the GM line of SUV from 2009, and I like it because there arent too many of them out there, and its functional for when I need to pack a bunch of snowboards and skis during the winter - that and its AWD 270hp/270tq, not bad.
The MR2 - I didnt even know they existed before I bought - thats why I like it - people dont even know that they existed.

Yeah that happens too, but it's obvious when someone is just messing around vs being a douche. When it's a 270 HP BMW still with temp tags and already lowered on aftermarket wheels and blasting pop music revving and creeping and peeling out at the light vs a 100 HP beat to hell and back bone stock 15 year old Camry... yeah they are just being a stuck up b**ch and think they are somebody.

Funny how they don't do that when I'm in the other car...

That's just it. It's only in my 15 year old Camry that people act like that. Clearly superiority posturing and nut sacking, nothing more. I doubt a riced out Mustang V6 or snobby kid in a 325i on 22s wants to see how my 90 whp Camry with peeling clear coat runs. I love that poor car but damn people piss me off with the alpha male machismo crap in crappy cars that I could eat with 6 cylinders disabled in my other car.

E153 Solara FWD 5 spd w/ LSD $600
V6 axles $practically free
ST205 3SGTE 3rd gen $1500
SXV10 5SFE to ST205 3SGTE swap harness $540
generic FMIC and piping/silicone couplers from Ebay $200
boost controller and ROM tune from ATS $500
Misc hoses, wires, connectors, donor brackets, mounts, 255 lph fuel pump, etc $2000

300 WHP 2800 lb Camry still with peeling clear coat $priceless

I drive a 2000 Focus so clearly I'm not too picky. Pretty much my only two "must haves" are a manual transmission and AC.

You're the first person I've ever encountered who would take a 300 HP all motor LS1 over a 800 HP twin turbo LS1.

Suit yourself. ;)

Why are you still talking about V8s? I thought you were a man. Real men drive V12 Dodge trucks with the viper motor. You're just a girly girl who wants to be a man, still talking about small V8's.

Go back to serving burgers and fries at your local sonic, girly girl.

:)
