How people are changing habits with gas so high (or if at all)

I have been refraining from posting threads where the topic is nearly exactly the same as another thread on the first page with dozens of responses.

I changed my habits about 4 years ago. Drove an old Mustang. It's not fun waiting for a heat soaked starter, or a carb needle going haywire causing my engine to flood, or smelling like old car everywhere I go. Now it's a weekend car, and my daily beater is a fuel efficient Focus. No habits required. I love driving, but I hate running errands. I have been combining errands since I started driving.

On a side note this happened the other day.
We went to see a movie with a big group of friends. A few tried to use the student discount, and the theater said they only except them on Thursdays. Why did they start doing that? Gas prices they said.
In terms of lameness, that is the ultimate WTF in the "because of gas prices" card I have seen played.

I stay home more now , so I have time to read reposted threads.
I also have time to make polls where one should be (hint).

People drive much slower I think. I wondered why going 5mph over down I-75 and other highways from MI to NY that I flew by the vast majority of people. Here I thought everyone drove like maniacs going 85mph (there was only a few like this). Though those same people did not slow down a single bit in constructions or other slow areas. It was like they were wanting to save gas so bad, they put the cruise at 63ish and didn't slow down for anything!

I haven't done anything different yet. In fact driving more, many wasteful trips to get fast food a ton (a double whammy there), check out new stores, and whatever. Pretty stupid of me but I don't think it's that much more money out of my pocket. I can understand those who have awful commutes and such.

Though these gas prices would just about make me go with another 4cyl car for sure. Though these new sixes get about the same mileage as my 15yr old four, even with them weighing an assload more.
