so I was looking through my local city newpaper and there is an add for a brand new in box 1.6 gig, 512mb, 15 LCD, 30 gig etc for like $750. Of course I run to phone and call only to find it that of course it's been sold. But why would anyone sell it that cheap a brand new laptop? Granted I didn't get a chance to look at it in person but it sounds almost too good to be true and if that lucky bastard who bought before me is on here I'll give you $100 more than what you paid :)

probably "fell off the back of the truck". I have friends that used to be in that business. Friends and family would get first dibs, then it was off to the classifieds or ebay.

probably got a good deal on it and doesn't need it so is selling it for a modest profit. I've done it before.

There are really only a few reasons:

1) Stupidity.
2) Desperate Financially.
3) Spite (selling husband or wife's laptop)
4) Item is stolen.

lol I know a guy that lives in a neighborhood those trucks pass through. Sadly all the trucks passing through my neighborhood have their loads securely fastened.;)

5) Won it in a contest/raffle and wanted to painlessly unload it ;)

I knew a guy who used to win all kinds of freakin' contests. It was unreal. He even won trips and a car! :Q

I think those are the 5 most common reasons why someone would sell something worth $1,500 for only $750
