How old would you guess John Carmack is? -- UPDATE: Bio was wrong --

I was bored, & looking up info on John Carmack. I was shocked when I found out his age.

He was born in 1955, which makes him as old as my dad!

I thought he was MUCH younger.

Carmack is genius =) ... however, when I saw the video of S. Jobs presenting the new GeForce, and saw Carmack make his appearance, I would've thought he was in his early 30s...

However, I guess that is where his genius came from... he has definitely been in this business for a while now =)

umm...i dont know where you got that informaiton, but it's completely wrong. Carmack turned 30 last year when he got married to Katherine Anna Kang. i'll find a link to prove it, but he is no way in his 40s. email me: jaed@thetriplehelix.com

that other article u found on a google search is completely inaccurate.

Actually, Jaeded may very well be correct...

I went back &amp; looked at the bio again. Although they do list his birthdate as being January 1, 1955, they also say:

At age 29, John is happily married to Anna Katherine Kang.

The bio would have to have been written in 1984 to have both figures be accurate.

I'd say the bio is WAY off. Since I was so surprised, I tried to find a second reference to his birthdate but didn't find any.
