First house (24), my ex wife and I bought on our own. She got it in the divorce (with my consent, I just wanted out.) The second house (32) was inherited, and all we pay is insurance and property tax.

I wish I could afford a house. After getting laid off from an excellent programming job and not being able to get back into the field (company collapsed, flooding market), I now make just barely enough money to afford an apartment. :(

My parents moved closer to where my Dad works in 2001, so I bought their old house, the one I basically grew up in. :D I was 24. I'm still there, and have no plans to move any time soon. If my current projections hold, I'll have the house paid off and be completely debt-free in 10 years. Woohoo!

I was 21 and single. I'm buying a new home in a couple of months now with the fiance and I just turned 27.
