How old were you when you learned to swim?

i could keep from drowning at about 7-8
i joined swim team and learned how to swim decent about 11-12
i still sucked but can do breast, side decent

I can swim in the deep end of the pool because I know how to swim to float. I can't tread though and I would never trust myself in the ocean. As a matter of fact if I were to dive from above or into the ocean, I'm not so sure I could rise to the top... never tried. Hate getting my nose under water. I swim lifeguard style.

10 for me. Mom wouldn't let me swim in the bigger pools fearing I would drown!
