how old were you when you got into your first accident ?

I was 17, actually 1 month away from 18 ... tailgaiting. Guilty as charged ... stupid / inexperienced. What can I say - takes that much to get my head straight.

Of course there will be many of you who haven't gotten into an accident at all after 10 years of driving. Good for you. I still drive aggressively but I've cut out most of the unnecessary tailgaiting.

funny you should ask...

i'm 33, been driving since i was 16, and just got in my first accident friday evening (of course in my 6 mo old car).

2 cars back the car didnt stop, hit the car in back of me who was stopped, and that car rear-ended me (also stationary).

i learned how important it is to wear seat belts, i was wearing mine and didn't get hurt, my friend was in the passenger seat and was not wearing his seat belt, he broke the windshield with his head (no major bleeding/damage to his skull luckily, we were only going about 35 Mph)

19 -- Not at fault. Driver ran red light. Actually, she just rolled out in the middle of the highway when she was stopped on the red. Almost like she wanted to get hit.

17/18 cant remember.. misjudged the angle of the car while pulling into a parking spot at the university and hit the car beside me Those spots were super narrow. If you didnt park just right you couldnt get your door open.

some girl decided to run a yellow light as I was coming through (it just turned yellow as I entered the intersection) and she for some reason didn't notice my car coming? head on collision... 100% her fault. I got off scot free

19 or 20, I was with a friend, and we edged out too much into a 2-lane road, took his front end clean off...

but my personal first accident while I was driving was at 21, getting rear-ended by a jeep in my escort.
