How old were you when you first came to Anandtech and how old are you now?

I would have been 12-13 when I started reading the posts in the early internet days 1997-1998ish with my Pentium 1 and 28.8k modem. I lurked on the forums for years before I joined in 2001. Wish we could see our history pre-2008. I'll be 40 next year. Man, what a trip to see Anandtech from end to end. I've been away for a about a decade, but I saw the last article notice and had to check in. Better nate than lever, right? Can I interest you in an alternator sized piece of beef? Anyways, I love you all and I hope life has treated you well and continues to treat you well.

39 yrs and 5 months when the site was put up April1997. Lurked a while, then the forum reboot came Oct 1999, then registered early 2000 for a question I needed an answer to. Will turn 67 this coming Veteran's Day.

I have no recollection of when I actually joined. The date over on the left got screwed up somewhere along the way.

Joined in May 2003 assuming the info is right, so would have been 17. 38 now. Getting up there in age. Feels like my teen years were not that long ago.

Back when I joined I was probably using my first self built computer, probably running Windows 2000, and fairly new to computers.

Geez…I first came here looking for reliability info on HDD before I drove about 50 miles to buy one on sale at Fry’s.
Finally joined the site as an active member in 2006…so I was those years old then…now I’m today’s years old.

The date should be in your profile.

I guess I joined in 2008 when I built my first PC. I was in my mid 30's and now in my mid 50's.

I can remember as far back as reading the P4 Prescott review on AT. Probably knew about it before then but can't recall any other important review. I'm 44 now. I hope AT is not gone before it's my time to go.

Unless you decide to play Crossy Road in real life, you should last longer than this forum.

First time I checked out Anandtech was probably 1999/2000, looking at Thunderbird reviews at the time. Joined the forums with my original account around 2001 maybe. That one went to some long defunct email address.
better nate than lever
I have shared that one with my kids at this point, so suffice to say, I'm ooooold now.

I was 17 in 1997 when I read Anand's AMD K6 review and then bought an AMD K6 CPU. I was 19 when I joined the forum in 1999.
