How old is your rig?

After this thread gets to 7 pages long, are you really going to read through it going "2 years, 6 months, 3 months, a year and a half, a year... wow, this is so useful, I'm so glad I made this post"?

AMD 1.4Ghz Thunderbird (2001)
FIC Motherboard (2001)
ATi Radeon 9200 128MB (2003?)
512MB PC2100 (2002?)
Western Digital 40GB (2002?)

A little old, but it's fast. The only problem is instability.

My needle is 4 months old.
My spoon is 20+ years old.
My rubber cincher is a week old.

my rig is fluid, there are parts that are 3 years old and there are parts that are 2 weeks old. I never build a new rig just upgrade parts as I go

How old/new is your rig?

i used to have one of those.

upgraded last spring to opty 165 and radeon 1900xt

i was at 4 gb of ram for a few short weeks before i realized that the extra 2 gb would be useful in the other computer

my 2.4C rig is more than 3 years old. still running like a champ. though the 2x1GB of PC4000 ram, cpu overclocked to 3Ghz, and the 6600GT, it plays games and does everything i need it to do very fast.

now my htpc cpu needs to get upgraded to an E6600 and ill be set.

Less than a year. Dual core Opteron (165?), 4gb DDR, 1.3TB total disk space, 2x 7800GT (running INDEPENDENTLY, none of that SLI bullshit) A8N-SLI mobo, 5 17" CRT monitors (1 attached to a PCI board).

Oldest components are some of the hard drives (one dates from.... like, '01) and the optical drives (both date from ~03). The chassis is also old, but I don't count that.

this is my rig:
AMD Athlon XP-M 2400+ OC'ed to 2200Mhz
ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe mobo
768MB of DDR400 (i need to replace that with atleast 1GB)
WD 80GB 7200 ATA100 HD
Nvidia 6600GT 256MB AGP8

aroun 3-4 years old.

it may not be the fastest, but it's very stable, and for the things i do, it rocks.

Inspiron 8200 = four years old
Latitude LS = six years old
Thinkpad T23 = ? years old (bought it used, no idea how old)
File Server = Built it Jan 06, everything except the HSF & HDD are used parts.

Desktop is a bit over three years old, although I have upgraded some parts since then. I would like to do a completely new build, but I do not have the extra cash.

The core of my system
Mobo is 3mo
CPU is 1.5mo
GFX is less then a month old
DDR is like a year and a half, though

Rest of my system is at least 1 to 3 years old (boot HD is like 3yr, DVDRW is 2yr, case is like 10mo)

I purchased my computer June 2003, I would upgrade but since I can run games at 1680x1050, I see no reason to

P4 2.8C
1 gig pc3200 dual channel ram
Abit IS7
6600GT AGP

The video card was purchased last summer

for a computer thats closing in on 4 years old, it does a fine job

little over a year... AMD939 3000 (I think), with a 6800GT, and 2 gigs of ram.

I'd really like to upgrade to a dual-core mobo and a PCI-express video card, but I can't really justify the expense... I'd probably be a lot more inclinded to upgrade my PVR first, and put in an extra tuner card, more ram, and buy a case with better air-flow (I'm constantly having problems with it overheating... I've got to reboot the box at least five times a week during the summer, fall, and spring)

A64 3800X2: bought a couple weeks ago (broken pin and under repairs currently)
Opteron 146: bought in December
7900GT: Traded for it in May
RAM: bought in february
HDD: bought around two and a half years ago
Mobo: last month

The stuff in my computer is all pretty recent other than my optical and hard drive.
