Why do you keep these things?

I started backup up my e-mail before formatting a few years ago. Since then, I haven't lost any non-junk e-mail. My oldest message is dated 04-18-2001. It was the day I built my first socket A system: an Abit KT7A (VIA KT133A chipset) + Athlon 1ghz Thunderbird C (133mhz FSB) + 128mb Crucial PC133 CL2 😀

I keep my e-mail because I can search through it. There have been many times that I've needed to find something someone wrote, or a name, phone number, address, or other piece of information. All I have to do is hit the Find button.

I have e-mails from 1995 on a floppy disk somewhere...
