Funny thing is - I've driven over 100k miles and I'm 20 - I'd say I'm pretty experienced - never had and accident and never had a ticket. Damned insurance statistics, and damn all you idiot male drivers who have gotten tickets and have gotten in accidents :|

They're gonna pay for it - and the damage is over 1k (at least, all three of the estimates I got said that). But, they're totally apologetic about it, so I'm glad 🙂

It isnt based on the state so much as the individual insurance companies policy.
Many dont have a set age just so long as you've been driving a certain number of years. Assuming you started at 16, they would all be similar.

I've got insurance through Nationwide, live in Ohio... I'm 20, and have driven a *lot*... probably over 100k miles if I were to add it up...

Of course, my agent knows that I have been driving farm machinery and automobiles since I was very, very young... maybe he took care of the 'inexperienced driver' crap?

Hey, been driving since I was 18 and still haven't had an accident. Never changed the way I drive and there have been some pretty close calls, but I come out on top!

It lowers at maybe 18, then at 21, then a big dump at 25, but definitely doesn't halve at any of those markers.

Actually, Johnny, it is people like you. You've not had an accident yet, but keep up your road-battle mentality and you will. It was also people like me and my friends, who were maniacs, and all got in accidents within a year of getting our licenses. There is a damn good reason teenagers pay through the nose on insurance.
