Whats a homeowner discount?

You own your house therefore you get a discount?

Correct?

Yes I suck. I need a damn car.

vi_edit I hope you realize thats a ludicrously low insurance rate. How the hell did you swing it? I have been driving for 7 years with no accidents at all and the best I could find was with geico. An example was $75/month for full coverage on a 2001 daewoo lanos (worth about $9k). And this is with the big marriage discount!

I'm 22, almost 23.
I drive a 2000 Nissan Sentra.
I pay $107/month for full coverage through State Farm.
This includes a discount for also having renter's insurance.

My GF is 24, she pays something like $92/month for her 1999 Ford Escort.

We have pretty good coverage though, it would have been somewhat cheaper if we had a higher deductible.

Damn, Viper lives in the boonies, too. $2400/year for liability only is extortion.

vi_edit lives in Iowa. It is not unusual for rates in rural areas to be rock bottom.

Yup, rural Iowa baby!

Some of the lowest insurance premiums in the NATION. I'll also add that I have the second highest medical coverages as well. My premiums are $500 though, which sort of sucks. Taking them down to $250 would double my premiums. I said screw it and stuck with the lower rates.

When I say medical coverage, I'm talking hospital coverage and medical bills incurred in the event of a car wreck, and specifically for a car wreck.

State minimum req. is 40k/60k (per person/per wreck). I've got 300k/300k coverage. This also covers unisured motorists incase I get wiped out by some fsckwitt without insurance.

My employer only charges me $8 a month for my real health insurance.

I carry fairly high liability coverage (100/300/50), but only the state minimum for first-party benefits (5K). My agent told me that if you get into an accident, your health insurance would cover your hospital bills and the auto insurer would only be involved if you didn't have enough health coverage. I get BC/BS Personal Choice at work, so we determined there is no need to buy extra first-party benefit coverage...even at 5K coverage, it's still $70/year.
