How often to domain name databases get updated?

I had my domain parked at godaddy and i switched my name servers to my new host.

How long before lightworkz.com actually takes me to my new site??
Actually i guess im asking, how often are the "whois" databases updated?

That depends on the zone file settings at godady. You should call them and ask. Some have the time set at 4 days. Some go as high as 30.

Well according to their site, its already changed the nameservers...

Is what you are referring to in reference to their database updating all others of this change? <--- Sorry, i dont know how to word that better

Welp, guess i just found the answer to my question....

Came across this buried in their FAQ about updating domain nameservers...

"** Please note it will take 48 hours for this information to update across the internet."
