How often is your "unique" online handle in use?

Ok, I go by Mallow. IMO, it isn't a common name. Granted I got it out of an Issac Asimov book (The Foundation) it has been used in more places than I would have thought. First of all it was taken on hotmail and it is in use on most IRC servers I get on. Many people have often told me that Mallow was a character in a Super Mario Bros RPG, yet I don't remember that one but it must be true.

How often do you try to register on a new forum or eMail and the coveted online name you use is taken?

Never had it taken anywhere, but someone's had the domain for a few years and never really done anything with it.
[edit]
Well that's just ducky, I checked it again and now it's apparently for gay pr0n :(

Never, hence why I consider it a "unique" ID.

But yes, Mallow was this weird character that joined your team in Mario RPG

I used to go by scooby when the Internet was like 1/100th the size 8 or so years ago..

I was even scooby@aol.com for a while until I realized that aohell wasn't that great. Then, more people came and scooby was always taken.. So then I just did scxxby. Fvck if someone wants to pronounce my nick.

Now, for the past 6 years, I just went by Brxndxn because scxxby just wasn't that great. I had a few other friends that did the same thing with their first name.. x's instead of vowels..

My ebay ID is still Scxxby, however.. I joined like in 1998.

Never happened to me.
I've used 'TubaSent' before, too, and I've never had a conflict with that, either.

No one ever wants my handle. I've never had anyone else registered with it.

I couldn't use what I wanted on AIM, I couldn't use what I wanted on Yahoo

I probably could have used what I now use here. but I am not gonna change it.
half the time I can't get my name.
if it's a small board or something.... not a problem though.

Some guy on AIM took b0mbrman but otherwise, I haven't had a problem getting this name everywhere...with the exception of Ebay where I registered b0mbrman in 1998 and forgot the password :(

I harass the guy on AIM all the time hoping that one day he'll step aside and let me have the damn screen name (His name is Mike...nice guy :))

It has happened a couple times surprisingly. I didn't think there would be many people named Spaced ... let alone spell it with a 3 instead of an e.
