Just installed Vista Business edition on my Gateway C405. On XP it ran for 2 years OS never crashed just apps.

Vista has hardlocked with a funny graphics pattern twice today already in the last 3 hours. Once while doing user manager and the other while in gpedit.

I'm still crashing like a motherfvcker. It must be a Windows Media issue. I always crash while playing MP3s or Videos or something...

Could it be the lack of a nForce driver? I have Forceware installed, but NV doesn't have anything except RC1 driver for the chipset. Plus MS has their own driver that should be fine? I don't know.

I set power management so only my HDs spin down and my monitor turns off instead of standby. When I moved my mouse after a few hours, my system restarted.

Another day my wireless router was acting up and my laptop couldnt connect so I power cycled my router. I walked into my room and my desktop (Vista) just restarted. Like it can't take my unplugging the router or something?

not yet - 1 week and counting

winamp has crashed once or twice (i think it was something to do with the new media sharing thing in winamp...

DLeRium I believe you have other issues besides software. Have you checked your power rails lately to see if your ps is supplying the right voltages? Another thing to check is your hsf to make sure that it is free of dust bunnies and cooling properly. Heat is your enemy along with wavering voltages from a cheap ps.
