If you haven't noticed, MS released a laser mouse 6000. In doing so, they say it's geared towards gamers. The thing is, the button placement for the front/back and the right side button is placed very far forward. Meaning, your hand has to actually grip up the mouse and move forward in order to actually hit the buttons with your thumb. They've moved away from the original design where your thumb rests is actually where the front/back buttons are.
Now, I'm wondering, this mouse has not had any good reviews, so far. On Amazon.com, which I already linked, there are no positive reviews in regards to "button placement." There may be five star reviews but it all says that the button placement is just way out of whack.
What are the chances that MS hears about this and does a refresh?
I recall that with the IntelliMouse Explorers, there were versions 1.0, 2.0, and then 3.0 which was one of the better versions.
How far apart, if you remember, were these refreshes in the product line?
I really want this mouse but the button placement is just too out of whack for me to even consider this mouse. For now, like someone has already recommended, I'm going with a Logitech MX518.
