How often do you've to degauss your monitor?

I basically do it whenever I remember to do it. I generally don't see all that much of an improvement when I do degauss...all I think it does is look pretty...but of course that is "my professional opinion" which means nothing to most:D

Keep in mind that you shouldn't be degaussing too often - it can damage the monitor!

how often is often? i usually do it when i'm bored while loading a game of cs or quake.

Doesnt it do it automatically everytime you turn it on? Deguassing will have no effect if you do it right after it turns on....

Hardly ever, unless I happen to turn the monitor off by the power button.

Yea if it hurts it, then why do two of mine do it when they come on automatically??? :confused:

Mine does it automatically when it starts up. I thought it was broken when I first acquired this monitor since it made this kind of weird "bang" ^^ Hahaha... silly me.

i only ever do it by accident and it make me jump because it buzzes and the picture wobbles! they put the degauss button right next to the image controls...

LOL... Luckily I'm using the Philips 107s21 monitor, which has a menu for less used functions, including degauss. :)

Actually, degaussing works perfectly against dust on the screen :D but on the other hand, I could use the vacuum-cleaner more often...
