How often do you shut your home computer down?

I was just wondering how many people here leave their computer on all the time like me, or how often you shut it down. I've heard it's bad to leave it on all the time, but I don't remember where.

Before I go to bed unless I'm downloading something overnight, which isn't too often. No point in leaving it on overnight for me.

Generally it goes off at night unless it's doing something. It goes on when I get home from work.

I always turn my desktop off after I've used it. I see no reason to leave it on. It only takes me about 15 seconds to boot anyway (If that..).

My laptops on the other hand are always put into standby.

EDIT: My file server is always on, however.

The desktop... Never. I turn the monitor off when I am not using it.

I recently went to England for 7 weeks, left the system going.

My laptop... when I am done with it. Unless I am only going away from it for a few hours. Then I leave it on and turn it off at the end of the day.

Turn off and unplug when out of town. That's about it. Rarely will I shut it down otherwise.

I let it run untill it freezes and I need to restart. Sometimes I will restart if I need to play a game that needs a fresh reboot to play well.

Generally probably once every 2 weeks.

My laptop is off when I'm at work and at night. When I'm on call I keep it on during the night in case I get paged in the middle of the night.

Gaming desktop is only on when I'm using it and my server is on 24/7.

During the week I turn it on when I get home from work and turn it off before I go to bed. During the weekend I usually leave it on all day and turn it off before bed.
