how often do you replace your fuel filter?

was talking to a friend who says he does it every 24k miles. uh I've got 180k miles on my car and I've never changed it. Get decent MPG so I don't see it as a pressing matter

Do you realize that some cars have the fuel filter inside the fuel tank? It is not cheap to have them changed. Besides, if you are getting full fuel flow and pressure there is no need to change it.
