How often do you give random presents to your friends and family?

Whenever I see something that a friend or a family member really wants, I have a tendency to purchase it for them, even if it's not a special occasion. I would always be on the lookout for things for my ex, and give him a book, a video game, or a nice article of clothing perhaps once a week or so. I just bought and shipped Guitar Hero II for a friend of mine who has wanted it for awhile but cannot afford it.

I rarely get anything back and I've never had anyone really "randomly gift" me regularly, although I think that it would be nice. Perhaps I try to model what I hope others will do for me. Regardless, it feels nice to surprise someone with a little something every so often when they are not expecting it. :)

Never. I don't like giving or getting gifts. It seems so pointless. I'd rather just spend time with people I care about.

I don't because I have zero skill in picking things out for people, but I tend to do things for friends instead.

I like to get stuff for my parents, because they helped me out for so many years. Most recently I bought my dad a new DVD player.

I don't really give them impulse presents. In my opinion, general kindness and lack of self-centeredness is what keeps a relationship going.

Kinda like me... Unless its something really useful... I dont see the whole point of "souvenir" gifts, unless of course, you cant be with them for a long time... For everything else good time spent with people we like is worth much more
