How often do you floss, on average?

Almost once everyday, because I'm too lazy too floss after every meal. While my GF floss after every meal (aproximately 3 times a day).

Floss is a good way to keep the dentist & halitosis away.

I'd do it more often, but I'm too lazy to bother threading it through my braces. I just do it whenever I'm at the orthodontist and they let me brush/floss with my wires off.

I used to do it a few times a week when I had floss picks. Then I did it once or twice a week when I had floss. And now I'm out of that too, so I haven't been doing it at all.

😕

twice a day.

Over the last 18months, i have had soooo much work done on my teeth.... four quad root planing, new fillings, replace fillings, sealant, zoom whitening, double crowned bridge, root canals.... fvck.... not only was it really painful, but it costs me thousands and thousands of $$$$ (no insurance).

from now on, if the dentist tells me to floss twice a day, i am gonna floss twice a day. brush 2 times a day and carry a little bottle of mouthwash so i can rinse after lunch.

🙂

Same here. I told the hygenists to drop the flossing lecture. I use a great electric brush twice a day with religious fervor. It just seems like medieval torture.

There is nothing stoping you from brushing after lunch meal. Get a travel kit.

A few times a week. 😱

Too lazy to do it everytime I guess.

Here's something for all you "I don't ever floss" people to try, though..

Eat some meat. Doesen't really matter what it is, but stringy meat like chicken or pork is best.

Now, wait 12-24 hours. 48+ hours is even better.

Grab some floss, and carefully floss some of your back molars. Extract the floss so you have some food remnants on it.

Now, smell it.

That's what your breath smells like.

It only takes 12 hours for meat start rotting at ~98ºF.

If you do this, I guarentee you will look at flossing in a whole new light. Those of you saying "I only floss when I get something stuck in my teeth"..

Go ahead and brush first, and then do the test. The results will be the same. You can't clean sh!t from between your teeth with a toothbrush.

I tried this with my sister's floss. Didn't work out so hot after I realized the floss had a strong cinnamon smell. Anyway, I'm gonna buy some floss picks today and get back into the habit. Yeah!

I started flossing when the dentist told me I had a cavity because I didn't floss regularly. As a side note, he was probably mistaken because it never hurts and no other dentist has said anything about it.

Anyway, It's amazing what kind of crap gets stuck in your teeth in just a day. And once you start flossing, your teeth will never feel the same without it. If you don't floss, you really should. I'm sure you won't regret it.
