How often do you dust and vacuum your house/apartment?

My vacuum cleaner hung itself with its own power cord out of sheer loneliness.

That was after it tore apart its own vacuum bag and wrote out "NO 1 LUVS ME :(" on the floor.

About once every 2 months. I'm not terribly messy though and I clean up most messes as they occur.

we have some tile floors and the hair and crap is easily visible after a week... it's nasty to just leave it there. Imagine the carpeted areas too...

With only two of us our house stays very neat and clean. I vacuum maybe once every 3 or 4 weeks. We also don't wear shoes in the house so that certainly helps. If our house wasn't so big I wouldn't mind it that much. I do have a bit of advice though, for those of you who don't dust often. Pull your bed away from the wall. We had a ton of dust between our bed frame and the wall. I had no idea until I moved the bed.

For several years, the housekeeper(s) came in once per week and took care of all that stuff for us...now, as money gets tighter for us, we've fired both housecleaners and gardeners...so that means I get to mow/trim the lawn...and between us, the housekeeping gets done...sometimes. :p
I don't mind pushing the Dyson around...it does a great job and requires very little effort.

And it adds thickness to the carpet.

So would that be a nappy shag carpet then?
