How often do you completely beat a game?

As often as possible. I don't go after the little achievements though, I see no point in that. Those are often just arbitrary and I don't actually consider them as "completing the game" since sometimes they just seem to be extraneous (like the flags in Assassin's Creed - wtf? I consider filling in every storyline DNA bar the 100% completion mark, but the flags are dumb).

Beat MGS2 with most of the dogtags, KH1/KH2 completely, Super Mario 64, Zelda Majora's Mask, Zelda OoT, Zelda TP (Still working on some heart pieces). That's all that comes to mind so far.

Edit: Megaman X, Megaman X3, Megaman X4, Megaman X5, Megaman X6, Megaman X8

Did you REALLY beat MegaMan X completely? I'm talkin Hadoken here, not just the hearts/energy tanks.

Yep, got everything. Hadouken owns Sigma in like 2 hits. Normal bosses in 1. Also (referring to the other megaman games) got the zero sword, dark armors, gold armor, etc. I try to find as many armor pieces as I can before I actually fight a boss.

Hell yeah, I remember doing full completion of Megaman X and X3. The Hadouken owned.

I once beat MGS2 on Big Boss, but I didn't go after the dogtags. I thought beating it for the Big Boss ranking was good enough (kill no one not even bosses, can only save 3 times, can't ever be seen, can only destroy a specified number of cameras/robots, there was a time limit too I think, it's insane)

Anyone else have backlog problems like this?
Worse. Odin Sphere, Rogue Galaxy, DQ8, FF8, FFX, FF12, Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Crystal Chronicles, Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, FFT, FFTA, Blue Dragon, Paper Mario, and the list just goes on and on.

On the plus side, I did finish up Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed (albeit not in a completionist sense), and I'm nearly done with Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. I'm a sucker for a good RPG or strategy game, as you may have noticed. Thankfully, I got all of these rather cheap.

Yep. Massive backlog here.

MP1, MP3 (missed echoes), Pikmin2, SSX3, RE4Wii Ed(Completed RE4 GC), +ton of other GC games not completed, Doom 3, Quake 4, Company of Heroes, Warhammer RTS of some kind, Soldier of Fortune 2, ETc, etc, etc, Excite truck, a ton of VC titles, then Ace Attorney 1 & 2, Advance Wars: Dual Strike, NSMB, SMG, Hotel Dusk, etc. for DS, Resistance: FOM, Burnout Paradise, etc, etc, etc...

Yeah, I have a job and a life, but I love games. 😀

I will play a game through, but I wont do all the achievements or whatever. Finished Ratchet and clank last night, and I didnt bother finding all the gold bolts, or anything like that.

Closest game I have come close to doing all the extras is GTA 3 and vice city, but even then I never got to 100%.

The only game I ever totally beat was Baldur's Gate 2, and that was only because the content was so interesting.

I only have a couple games at 1000 achievement points. Halo 3 is sitting at 970 IIRC. The only ones left are the Lonewolf multiplayer ones, which I never play. I might get around to it sooner or later.
