How often do you clean your refridgerators coils?

well how many times per year? It's reccomended that you clean your refridgerators coils 4 times per year to cut down on the electric bill...since dust on them makes the fridge have to work harder..

Outside coil on a reefer box is the condensor so yes lots of dust will increase the head pressure and drive the compressor amps up using more power. I have no idea as maintenance does the PM's on that stuff here. :)

Well if there's no FOD fouling there will be no increase in head pressure. Some folks must live in barns though. ;)

But why is he really coming to your house that often? ;)

Darn you I just spit milk on my screen.

But, to answer the OP I have never cleaned them, but it is not too dusty around here. :)

Where are these coils? I guess I could clean them, but where are they and how do I clean them correctly?

Although a thin layer of dust on the top of the coils won't increase the electric bill by more than a dollar or two.

 at all the n00bs saying, "Coils?! zOMG!"

I dunno.. I think I cleaned ours for the first time in like 4 years a while back.

Our frige is quite old, and it only draws 230W while on. That's including the bulb.

Not too bad really. It costs us 8$/mo, or about 100kWh in use a month.

I love Kill-A-Watts.

The bulb is ON only when the door is open. ;)
