A lot. I have a habit of patting my pockets to check for my four friends - phone, knife, keys, wallet.
Did you know pickpockets watch for this kind of behavior so the know which pocket to go for?
I usually only check for my wallet before leaving the house, and then before entering store/bank/whatever.
I probably check for cash more often though, usually because i forget if i can afford anything or not
You think you have OCD? I have OCD, I pay for gas at the pump by swiping a credit card. The card never leaves my hand, but less than a block from the station I have to pull my wallet out and make sure the card is in my wallet.
When in the public, like every couple minutes or whenever someone gets close to me. I use the far back swaying hand to feel for it... I am soooo smooth.
Frequently, bordering on OCD, I suppose. Then again, I can check to see that the oven's off two times before leaving the house and then think, while driving somewhere "did I leave the oven on?" Maybe it's lousy short term memory too...
Lol, I also do the altoids in left pocket, knife/keys in right pocket, wallet in back pocket check. Its absolutely insane when I go on missions for the Army. We bring so much damn gear that I quadruple check everything.
