How often do you backup?

I work on a rather large embedded software project (C sources alone are about 2.3MB at the moment). I back up these files at the end of every day I work on them by sending a ZIP to my gmail account.

For the rest, once a year or so. But I try to keep all my important stuff on my gmail too. I don't have pictures or important documents stored locally.

I don't have anything important enough to backup... What exactly do you guys backup? I keep my resume in lingo on gmail, along with my budget spreadsheets and such.

Make clone copies of the C: (OS & Apps) & D: (data, mydocs, etc) drives once a week.
Make copies of client project files daily.

So for those that perform backups, what method do you use? Burn to CD? Another hard drive? Tape?

important stuff like financial records, email, projects I'm working on, etc. I burn to DVD-RW every week, alternating between two discs. for music and media I just got a WD 320GB external hd. I would die if I had to re-rip all my cd's.

Music gets sycned with another computer every time I make a change.

My system gets backed up once after I install Windows and all my programs.

I don't really have a lot that isn't replaceable. Nevertheless, I backup it up to dvd or cd as soon as I finish the download. Or soon thereafter.

Bookmarks, cookies and my Thunderchicken e-mail accounts are backed up to another hard drive (same computer) weekly.

Daily. I went through an unrecoverable hard drive crash a couple of years ago without proper backup. I never want that to happen again.

I'll burn my digital camera pics and important docs maybe twice a year, but beyond that pretty much never.

All my digital music and movies are replaceable so I don't feel as much of a need to back them up.

If money wasn't an issue I'd probably back everything up more regularly though.

documents/music/pictures/video backed up nightly to my fileserver (which is a central backup essentially, and where my xbox gets it's media). pictures are also duplicated on flickr.

I had burned a dvd monthly of the documents, but I've been slacking on that. Trying to figure out a decent remote backup option. this looks rather interesting, but I'm not sure I like the idea of handing all my data over to another company. I might start doing a mirror of my backup server using an external HD monthly and just taking it to work.

SyncToy is a great utility for backup and FREE!

I backup important stuff to a third internal HDD. I can't remember how often I set it to do that though...

i have an additional drive, so right before i reformat, i just backup stuff to there.

so i would say...once every couple of months.
