How often do we see people trying to pull others down because they're not as good?

Maybe because they're not as beautiful as those others, or not as rich or intelligent or well qualified or popular or whatever. Some people get really aggressive and rude towards people they see as a threat or a potential threat in terms of outperforming them or becoming more popular or other stuff like that.

Has this ever happened to you? Have you ever behaved this way with anyone? Where else in society or on the internet is this noticeable?

It's noticeable everywhere because people are petty twats. I don't participate in it, and I don't know if it's happened to me because I generally ignore people. If someone's a dick, their motivation isn't a concern. Knowing they're a dick is enough.

I've never noticed this but I don't work so that may be why.
I heard backstabbing on the workplace is a problem especially between women.
But spreading rumors and plotting is something, being outright rude and aggressive to someone's face is another.

Happens all the time. Even over something so petty as making a statement that the other person doesn't like. The need to protect one's own ego is a powerful force.

You can tell by the comments on this forum that the majority of posters are not good looking, not rich, not as intelligent as they think they are, and are definitely ugly on the inside.

Otherwise, they wouldn't be as much as the assholes they portrayed themselves to be.

i disagree. it's easy to be an asshole when there's no chance of facing repercussions. No one can beat the shit out of you over the internet.

No, your actions are reflective of YOU, regardless of settings, or circumstances. It's the culmination of a person's miserable existence, in one form or another, that just act out in its true form absent of restraints. What you do when no one is looking, is the true you.

If everyone is honest to themselves, and are capable of truly self-reflect, they'd see the truth.

Everyone knows this!

Eh, I think you're over-thinking it. People aren't that smart. They just do it for a cheap thrill, IMO.

No, that's just simple reality and most people are just in denial about their own worth. Cheap thrill is go sliding down a banister. You, for instance, are making excuses for your actions? :hmm:
