I just read this Forbes article: How Obama Thinks

It's pretty interesting. It compares Obama's current actions & thoughts to his Father's thoughts & dreams. Mainly how his father was for the cause of anticolonialism and how that applies to Obama today.

Pretty interesting and worth a look, but I'm not sure if I'm sold on the author's reasoning. He does draw some interesting parallels.

he's a media creation "man child" twisting in the wind. has to use a teleprompter at a simple press conference. He even used a teleprompter in a group meeting with a bunch of school kids. Ineptitude will be his legacy.

Boy Forbes has really gone downhill since I last read it. I can't imagine a serious magazine publishing that op-ed blog ravings as a serious article.

Ask yourself this though - Obama or Mccain. :)

If you are like me, both suck and either way we voted we were voting against ourselves...And that is why having a strong third party would be a nice thing to see. More options are only a good thing, especially when both options you are presented with suck beyond belief [Obama/Mccain].

Imo Mccain was/is terrible, Palin was/is terrible. Obama was/is terrible...Biden sucks. Yea they all suck. Take it down a notch to Congress and the Supreme court, most of them suck to. Im not very optimistic when I see who runs the Government.

The only thing Obama had going for him is his skin color. Lets be honest...Some people voted for him on merit Im sure, since he does talk pretty well. But his entire campaign was littered with comments pointing out that he is black [well half black but still]. And that by electing him, America has overcome racism etc etc...Oh and hes the first black president in history [dont forget how huge of a deal this was at election time]. Looking past his color though and its not pretty.

He is a horrible president. Black or not. But I doubt Mccain would be any better, which is sad considering we only have 300 million people in this country...So that really leaves the question, is that the best they could come up with ? Mccain, and Obama.

Wow, your stupidity is your legacy. Teleprompter for school kids indeed. To use the meme, "you are a moran!"

Even better, what if there were no parties. What if people formed their own opinions and didn't follow someone because of the letter after their name.

Politicians will always suck, so the less they control they less they suck. Choose a politician who believes in controlling less that way life will be less suckier.

This is the only reason I support the tea party movement. I hope it gets big enough to rip into our current two party setup and give people more choice. If they succeed I can see more groups splintering off and we might actually have more than just two viable parties in this country.

I don't see how it will ever rip into the current two party system until it stops being a pseudonym for the GOP. If they actually splinter off, then we might actually have something.

even having to say Mrs. Vice President Sarah palin would not be as bad as the lasting costly legacy that is know as the obama administration. Likely we would be in the same spot economically... but at least the outlook would not be so glum.

As long as campaign finance stays the way it is right now, there is no hope of anything changing.

Let's face it - the folks who are garnering the presidencies are doing so because they are rich or their backers are rich. Period. There's no other way to get the exposure, the TV time, the political attack ads, etc.

I could not be president if I wanted to. Neither could you. Only a very special set of circumstances allows someone to rise to that position, and 99% of it is dictated by money. The aristocracy is ruling us and we have no choice about it.

Our government has already failed completely. It's just taking a lot of time for the people of this country to figure it out. That same aristocracy is not going to enact laws that change the fact that they have power.

Regarding the OP and the article: that's a shameless hatchet job full of half truths and shadings of lies. Oh - and I think Obama is a horrible president, but I don't have to resort to that type of pulp-tabloid reporting to know it and talk about it.

Surprisingly good article, thanks. This is a big part of the modern progressive movement, that it is unfair for America to have (and consume) so much while others have so little. Seen in this light of his father's dream (as put forth in Obama's book) many of his actions do seem to fit the mold. Other actions though don't fit so well. Obama has been pretty good in fighting the Islamic terrorists, often going beyond Bush despite his campaign rhetoric. Given that he sees some justification for their hatred, fighting them (beyond what is necessary politically) doesn't seem to fit at all, so there must be driving him more than simple hatred of America and western culture. He's a complicated man.

Or maybe he's just freakin' insane.
