How not to drive...

Sometimes you'll get stuck behind some hammer head going 30 mph though who just won't move over... Kind of inconsiderate when you have 30 cars and bikes stacked up behind you not to pull over and let them by.

Not only inconsiderate, but potentially illegal in CA. I think people are supposed to move over if they are holding up 5 or more vehicles. Not sure if that applies if they are already going the speed limit.

What a bunch of idiots, just because someone can afford an expensive sports car doesen't mean that person has a clue how to drive it, if it were me and I had a bike I wouldn't go near that road at all, just too dangerous..

This thread reminds me of that one awhile back about the idiots driving around in the mountains. They werent sure where they were going and kept slowing down for a turn that they didnt make. Rather than pulling over and letting the guy behind them pass, they kept at it till the the driver behind them got pissed and roared past them.

This will happen on 2 rides that I ride quite frequently. It will either be a couple of trucks driving slowly, or a couple of harleys/cruisers. I'm glad that the trucks are taking it slow rather than driving fast and not entering the other lane.

People on cruisers are riding the mountains for the view and I'm completely fine with that. I ride those roads because they are technical and it's an exercise in focus and improving my ability to ride my bike.

That said, I do get frustrated when I get stuck behind a long line of cruisers putting along at 15 miles around a curve rated for 35mph. I wait for a clear opening and then make a move.

I learned a new maneuver in Scotland last year.
When approaching a truck on a narrow road with no shoulder, the truck driver would see ahead that it was clear to pass and briefly signal that he was pulling over on the nonexistent shoulder. It got you started around them much quicker.
I started doing that while we were enjoying the countryside up North, and the locals were quite impressed by it, they waved to us every time.
