I find it amazing that any company Italian or not would think they could do business like this.

Basically an American dealership wanted to sell Benelli bikes in the US. So they needed a bike to send to the EPA for testing, after numerous false ship dates the bike finally got to the dealer in the US. Only problem is that it wouldn't idle and none of the guages worked, Benelli told them to test it anyways and that it would pass. It fell flat on it's face and fail, the dealer tried to get a new ECU from Benelli in order to pass the EPA's test. They never shipped one, so they went to the manufactuer of the ECU in France who said they wouldn't deal with Benelli anymore because they were five months behind in paying their bill.

And that is just one of the "setbacks" this dealer has faced. You would think Benelli would have learned from all the other bankrupt bike builders on how to build a bike and run a business. Then again this is the typical Italian way of doing business in the bike world.

Wow... learn to read, people. Think of your brain as a muscle, if you don't exercise it, you lose it.

Simple story of business incompetence on Benelli's part. Italian motorcycle manufacturer had an opportunity to break into the US market after cutting a lucrative deal with an American distributor, Superbike. Superbike spent more than a million dollars making the initial preparations in establishing a dealer network, etc. plus made substantial deposits to Benelli only to be screwed by a lack of support and service, and finally a complete breach of contract.
It's now in the courts' hands, and Benelli is so obviously in the wrong that this whole thing will probably put them out of business.
