My last internship in college paid $20USD/hr back in 1998...but it was at a refinery....they pay crazy amounts of money.

I am working for the government this summer and am not getting paid enough. What is weird about it all is that you get paid $25 more a week for each year you have been in college, so even though I know more than the freshmen, I only get paid $75 more a week for being a senior. It kind of sucks after being a waitress for 2 years.

When I was in college, I worked for a while as an assistant manager at a Bally's health club. Before I quit, I was on pace to make $60k in 1996.

Now, I am a college graduate (finishing up my Masters) &amp; have worked as a high school teacher for 4 years...I now make a little more than half that. :frown:

So much for higher education huh?!?!?!

damn.. thats pretty good for a college student. whattyou do??

by the way, I work 2 jobs.. I work at the Federal Bankruptcy Court of Atlanta gettin paid around 13.50 an hour/40 hrs a week, plus 4 hrs vacations and 4 hrs sick leave every 2 weeks....thats two days off a month pretty much, with pay...

second job is an engineering assistant for a company called TMTS stationed here in Atlanta.... I just pretty much assist the president of the company and he writes me a personal check every friday at about 15$ an hour.. usually work about 20 hrs a week.... so decent pay from him...

Well while I was a studnet several years ago, I was paid about $20/hr by a startup company.

Now I get more than that!

I just figure if I quit, someone with no balls will take my spot &amp; the educational system will slip just a little bit further down the hole. Although, I must admit...my job is about as close to you can get to delinquent-babysitting as you can get, so who knows...

BTW...working at Bally's was no picnic: 70 hour work-weeks 6-7 days a week, people bitching all the time...well...I guess that's kind of like teaching too.

yeah I just got it last week.... its a great job.. I like it, and I can do work from home sometimes too...
