Regardless, 78 pills in one sitting? wtf?
Actually, I believe the FDA has approved *up to 10mg* for anxiety/panic attacks *per day.* Considering Xanax has a life of 4-6 hours in your body, the FDA does not want you to take 10mg in one sitting. I'm sure Psychiatrists are guided to prescribe approx. 2.5mg **max** for every 6 hours.
With that being said, I just took 1mg of Xanax. Granted, the last time I took Xanax was over a month ago. At the moment, I feel about as mellow as if I had consumed about 6 beers. Additionally, this is on top of the 40mg of Lexapro I take each day.
Finally, pharmacies and doctors can be pretty naieve at times. For example, last year, I had a prescription for 3mg of Xanax a day. Since generix Xanax was so cheap, I just had them give me all my refills at once. I picked up 3 months' worth of Xanax at once - or 270 mg. for $27.00 from the local pharmacy. :shocked;
