There are plenty of ways to make money on the street. This is not one of them.

No, but if the story is true, I would give her some money to help with her dad.

Um . . . China?

Communist China?

The PRC is only really communist on paper. All those Marxist dreams got put to rest during the spectacular failure that was the Great Leap Forward and the following Cultural Revolution.

The only difference between capitalism and socialism is what cabal of oligarchs hoards all the wealth. You get your choice of elite government officials, or elite businessmen. China has both!

Assuming this story is true (Daily Mail, cough cough), it is a pretty sad statement on their society. Our society has a lot of problems, but despite it all, you don't see kids begging.

I propose a one Asian teenage girl thread per day limit for brain.

Where will Uhohs go?

That's pretty sad. It's why socialist health care systems are the best way to go. When it comes to health, money should be the last thing you should have to worry about.

Seems like you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the role money plays in society.

When it comes to everything that is limited, money is always something of importance. The only difference is that the more controlled the market the less supply of the thing will appear, no matter how much demand there is.

Then, along the way, other parts of the supply line need to also respond to monetary incentives.
